Get Involved

  • 13th July 2013

We are now live and taking applications for this year's Oxford Moonlight Stroll

This year's event takes place on the 13th July and will have a sci-fi theme so pull on those Darth Vader costumes, don your Doctor Who scarves and join us on a Starry Trek through the streets of Oxford in aid of the Sobell House Hospice Charity!

Participate in One of Our Events or Organise Your Own

Participating in one of our events, or organising your own event raises valuable funds for the Hospice and is also great fun. You could enter a team to participate in one of our activity events.

Your event could be anything - a quiz, barbeque, dinner-dance, auction, golf tournament, sponsored cycle or run – the only limit is your imagination!

What’s more, Sobell House Hospice Charity can support and promote your fundraising efforts. From ideas and advice to posters, flyers and collection tins we can help you make the most of your event.

Get Active

Every year Sobell supporters run, bike, swim, trek, kayak, and skydive their way to raising funds for the Charity.
Whatever your plan we're here to offer help and advice wherever we can.
If you're one of our annual marathon runners you can download all sorts of helpful hints and advice from our Marathon Runners Resource Centre.

Help Us Recycle

Recycling your printer cartridges is environmentally friendly and helps to reduce the 250 million cartridges dumped in landfill sites in the last decade, as well as helping you raise money for the Hospice. According to current statistics, only 5% of empty toner cartridges are currently being recycled - this means 95% of these items are simply discarded and end up in landfill sites.

Empty Cartridge Recycling Ltd are offering to help us recycle used cartridges and mobile phones by sending out collection envelopes/boxes.  If you would like to support us through this scheme please contact Empty Cartridge on 01908 371929 or visit their website www.emptycartridge.co.uk

Join our Lottery

You could also have a lottery syndicate with your work colleagues.  The more people you can sign up the more chance you have of winning.  The lottery has been a great success and continues to benefit the Hospice as our membership grows. Click here to join

Volunteering

We are always looking for new volunteers to join our team to help out on both short-term projects and ongoing work.  Charity volunteering can be a lot of fun and is a great way to make new friends.

Organise a Stock Donation Scheme

Why not collect up your unwanted clothes, toys etc and take them to one of our shops who depend greatly on these donations.

Regular Giving

Why not set up a Standing Order from your business to us and make a regular monthly donation?  Again, it doesn’t matter how small the amount – every contribution helps.

Take part in Employee Fundraising

Encourage your company to get involved by supporting us in a number of ways.

Leave a Gift in Your Will

Leaving a gift in your will could make a huge positive impact on Sobell House in the future.  Sobell House is more than just a hospice: it is a whole concept in care and professional dedication covering a wide range of skills which make Sobell House one of the finest facilities of its kind.  A gift from you would help to ensure this care continues.

If you are interested in taking part in an event, or get involved in any other way, please contact us on 01865 857007 or mail@sobellhospice.org
