Refashion with Oxford City Council

The Oxford City Council are holding a day of clothes swapping, fashion shows and recycling of your old threads, and best of all we'll be there!
Our Botley shop will be upping sticks and getting involved with the event on the 19th January.

Have you got any clothes lurking in your wardrobe that you are unlikely to wear again? Or even outfits that have never been worn at all?

You're not alone - everyone is prone to a few shopping blunders; misjudging size or style, or receiving unwanted presents.

But there are lots of things that can be done with old textiles - without resorting to sending anything to landfill.

Clothes swapping ‘Swishing’ events are becoming increasingly popular, and this is just one of the options for your old clothes.

On 19 January 2012 at Oxford Town Hall, ReFashion, a brand new fashion event, will celebrate all the innovative ways textiles can be re-used and recycled.

Visitors will be invited to bring along any unwanted clothes or textiles where they can then swap, sell, alter or donate them, or upcycle them into something altogether more exciting.

Those who come empty-handed can buy second-hand clothes, learn new skills in craft demos or just enjoy the catwalk fashion shows throughout the day showcasing recycled fashions created by local schools and colleges.

The event will run from 1pm-7pm at the Main Hall in Oxford Town Hall and entrance will be free.
