Oak Leaf appealsOpen an Oak Leaf Fund Everyone has to find his or her own way to come to terms with the loss of a loved one. Many bereaved people are trying to find a special way to remember and honour someone who was close to them, and our suggestion is via an Oak Leaf Fund. Relatives, friends and colleagues can all add to the fund in their own time, perhaps remembering a birthday or Christmas. Or they may wish to hold a fundraising event or meet a sponsored challenge in their honour. Becci says: "When we lost Dad at Sobell House in July 2003, we were left with such a mixture of feelings. Feelings of sadness, loss and maybe some anger too, but our greatest feeling was relief. "It was the most overwhelming feeling of all and it hit us as soon as we walked through the doors of Sobell House. The nursing team, the building and its facilities are incredible. From the moment of losing him we knew how important it was to be involved in supporting this invaluable sanctuary of care. "What better way to support Sobell House than with an Oak Leaf Fund in my Dad's name - Brian Walker?"
